PrintesyBot
The reader behind Printesy briefs
When a Printesy customer plans a page, Printesy reads the public pages that rank for that search, a few at a time, to see what they cover: headings, tables, questions. That reader is PrintesyBot.
How it identifies itself
Every request carries this user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; PrintesyBot/1.0; +https://printesy.com/bot)
Its robots.txt token is PrintesyBot.
What it does, and what it never does
- It asks your robots.txt first, on every request, and caches it for at most 24 hours.
- It reads one page of a site at a time and honours
Crawl-delay. - A page it has read is reused for a week: repeated briefs do not request it again.
- It only reads pages a search engine shows to everyone. It never logs in and never fills in forms.
- It keeps the structure of a page (headings, tables, questions, prices), not personal data.
- If your robots.txt forbids AI use of your content, Printesy keeps only the page's structure and never sends its text to a language model.
- Some pages refuse automated visitors. For a few customers, Printesy may then ask a fetching service to read the page. Those reads also check your robots.txt for PrintesyBot first, and Printesy logs every one of them.
Limit or block it
To keep PrintesyBot out of your whole site, add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: PrintesyBot Disallow: /
To slow it down, or to keep it out of one folder:
User-agent: PrintesyBot Crawl-delay: 10 Disallow: /private/
Changes apply within 24 hours.
